Applesauce Candy

Grandma Marie

Gelatin Candy

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup canned applesauce
  • 1 pk orange jello
  • 2/3 cup chopped walnuts

Combine sugar and apple sauce in sauce pan.  Bring to boil for 3 minutes stirring constantly.  Add jellow and stir over low heat until thoroughly dissolved.

Add nuts and pour in 8″ square pan.  Chill until firm.

I seriously adore the weirdness of this recipe.  I’m also thinking that it could be done with cherry butter and cherry jello.  I’m going to try this and I’ll post pictures when I do.

    I remember her making this. She would dust it with powdered sugar after she cut it into rectangles the size of Almond Roka
